IMPACT ELEVEN

Project Logs

  • Impact Eleven is an agency and community for thought leaders. They provide their clients/members with a suite of tools, workshops, and events to assist them in developing their brand and content base as keynote speakers.

The organization approached MKL to assist them in developing a comprehensive brand narrative film. The goal of the film was to communicate their methodology, tactics, and emotional resonance to prospects and speaking bureaus for greater brand visibility.

  • Creative + Full Scope Production

MKL led production and directed the creative approach. Production logistics involved two out-of-state event shoots. which included talking head and broll coverage. Most importantly, MKL was tasked with forming the overall structure of the narrative. Impact Eleven wanted to communicate many different pieces in the film, so we had to work together to formulate a cohesive story that accomplished the goal without becoming too long-winded.

  • We decided on building our coverage plan around 2 separate live events. Stylistically, we sought a clean documentary feel. This gave us the opportunity to 1) be efficient in capturing high quality interview footage with many different stakeholders, 2) capture exciting broll, and 3) showcase the scale of the community. The live event coverage really allowed us to unpack what it means to be a part of the community, which gives the viewer the opportunity to sit in the “hero’s journey” and imagine who they might become on the other side of Impact Eleven guidance.

  • The most difficult part was figuring out how exactly to articulate Impact Eleven’s value proposition across all of its different offerings. We had to dig into the business and understand what story we’re telling. While it’s important to represent the full power of the business, we needed to hone in on what is most relevant to specific prospects that will most likely watch and gain value from the film.

Logistically, planning for different locations and developing a comprehensive coverage plan was also challenging. Our shot lists had to be specific enough to guide our cinematographers, yet flexible enough to allow for improvisation during live keynote addresses. We also had to build an interview schedule that accommodated many different stakeholders, who were already busy with event duties.

Overall, we went in uncertain of the final product, but came out with a polished end product that all parties were excited about.
